Dear Malcolm,

May I suggest you to scrutinize this almost 30 year old obsolete Act from 1983 and its not very relevant sections, and find a writer-team to re-write it. Particulary in regards to, and before the new Advisory Council will be appointed. The ABC Board should not appoint the new Advisory Council. It is very unethical.

The population composition has changed a lot since this Act was created  1983, and  do not at all correspond to the current Australian populations needs, views and perceptions.
As the Advisory Council has no executive powers of its own it may be reason to give that question a second thought and also dig deeper into the old ACT and find a way to get this whole matter completely updated and revitalized.

Good Luck
